Company Introduction: G&C Food Distributors is a re-distributor of refrigerated, frozen, and dry food. Our sole distribution center is in Syracuse, NY. We store and deliver more than 4,000 food items to meet the needs of our customers across 27 states and 28 states internationally. Schedule:

Shift #1: Sundays 5p - 6a, Monday 10p - 3a, Wednesday & Thursday 5p - 6a

Shift #2: Sunday - Tuesday 5p - 6a, and Friday 8a - 1p

Job Summary:

As our Welcome Center Associate, you will be on the frontline of all visitors to G&C Foods, therefore this individual shall project a positive and friendly attitude at all times. The Welcome Center Associate is responsible for directing drivers with returns, organizing and processing receiving paperwork and ultimately being the final inspection point for trucks exiting the premises with the correct trailers, temperature, and load.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure drivers are exiting the premises with the correct trailers, temperatures, seals, and loads
• Assisting drivers with sealing the trailers before departure
• Direct drivers with returns/pallet jacks where to unload
• Collect and scan all Driver return paperwork into shared files. (Label the scan with vendor and date)
• Verify and coordinate all customer pickup orders
• Communicate to our designated staff and customer the arrival of the customer, designation of pickup, and location/door to arrive at
• Log in and out times of all customers and vendors, while also acknowledging employees
• Correlate all paperwork from the inbound drivers including PO’s and BOL’s
• Assign the incoming backhaul, inbound, or customer pickups a door based on the type of load being delivered
• Provide the inbound drivers with the correlated paperwork to bring to the receiving window
• Monitor alarm systems and emergency evacuations
• Knowledge of Shipping and Receiving procedures
• Knowledge of Transportation protocol
• Assist all G&C Drivers with any needs such as paperwork and dispatch, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Have a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferably have1-2 yrs experience in a related field recommended
• Strong customer service skills
• The ability to follow instructions efficiently
• The ability to maintain a friendly and professional attitude
• The ability to work a flexible schedule, which will include evenings and weekends
• Bilingual required (Spanish/English)
