The Delivery Driver ensures safe, timely, and efficient delivery of products to clients and businesses in accordance with all transportation laws and company policies. The Driver collaborates with the Supply Chain team to address any issues that may arise during transit and ensures accurate documentation and record-keeping throughout the delivery process. When not on delivery routes, the Delivery Driver assists the distribution center with various fulfillment tasks, including receiving, picking/packing, quality control, labeling, and other warehouse duties as directed by the Distribution Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Load, transport, and deliver items to clients and businesses safely and efficiently.
- Verify orders before and after delivery for accuracy, completeness, correct charges, and client satisfaction.
- Adhere to assigned routes, follow delivery schedules, and comply with all transportation laws.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from vehicles, ensuring proper handling and securing of products.
- Prepare delivery reports and any other documentation related to delivery activities.
- Support distribution center operations when not on delivery routes, including tasks such as receiving, picking/packing, quality control, labeling, and other warehouse responsibilities as needed.
- Safely operates delivery vehicles and equipment, including cars, trucks, and forklifts, in accordance with company policies and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a safe driving record in accordance with company standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- 12 to 24 months of B2B delivery experience (Amazon/UPS/FedEx)
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Knowledge and willingness to adhere to assigned routes, schedules, safety procedures, and transportation laws.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Must be reliable and dependable with a good work ethic.
- Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.
- Willing to cross-train in other areas as needed.
- Strong time management and attention to detail
- Familiarity with basic computer or mobile applications used for delivery tracking.
Work Environment
- Long hours in a delivery vehicle, driving in varying weather and traffic conditions
- The role primarily involves time spent driving delivery routes, as well as time in the distribution center supporting warehouse operations.
- May occasionally encounter varying weather conditions during delivery routes.
- Fast-paced environment requiring adherence to schedules and deadlines to ensure efficient and timely deliveries.
- Operations: This position will work in an indoor manufacturing facility with controlled temperatures; may be exposed to bright lighting, loud equipment, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and working in proximity with staff and vendors
- Schedule is variable, with changing start and end times, dictated by business demands.
Job Requirements
- Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
- Must be able to stand, walk, lift, sit, and bend for a majority of their work schedule.
- Must be able to travel to other office locations.
- Frequent travel required throughout assigned area, particularly during peak times.
- Must have own transportation.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
