G-FORCE Parking Lot Striping of Chicago North. We stripe parking lots and garages. We perform signage installation, bollard installation, wheel stop installation, warehouse floor markings, athletic field striping and more. I am looking for experienced (or trainable) Parking Lot Striping Technicians. This line of work requires agility, a strong work ethic, communication and an ability to work with a team. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour and could increase to $25.00 per hour after 90 days. Candidates with experience in Pavement Marking Striping, Construction, Estimating and/or Painting is a plus.
Duties & Responsibilities
- At the warehouse, gather appropriate supplies and equipment for the days scheduled work.
- Properly secure supplies and equipment onto bed of truck and/or trailer.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down on job sites.
- As a team member of G-FORCE, you'll have encounters on a given job site with customers, general contractors and property managers. Professional appearance and demeanor is expected.
- While on a job site you'll be: assisting in layout, snapping chalk lines, operating walk behind equipment (parking lot blower, grinder, shot blaster, striping machine) and power tools (angle grinder, hammer drill, auger, circular saws, core rig, etc.).
- Load and unload 5-gallon buckets of paint and 50lb. bags of concrete to and from trailers. There are flat beds and dollies to move weighted items, but having core strength and a healthy body is required for the different job tasks we encounter from one project to another.
- Ability to learn how to: complete a new layout, read pavement marking plan sheets, operate and maintain a striping machine, install wheel stops, traffic signs, speed bumps and bollards.
- Moves and sets stencils in preparation for painting.
- Participate in personal and field safety protection activities.
- Assist in other field work activities and maintain physical condition, organization and upkeep of our warehouse.
- Communicate with lead striper all conditions noted on any job site.
- Ensure that projects are completed on-time and within defined job scope.
- Perform site inspections before, during, and after project completion to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Clean up job sites.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions:
- Most of the time projects are outside. Must be able to work in variable weather conditions. We don't stripe when its raining or when surface conditions are wet.
- Other common work site settings are: inside and outside of warehouses, trailer yards, new construction sites and open grass fields (for striping of soccer, football and other sport game lines).
- At times we'll have interior projects like parking garages and warehouses. We comply with on site PPE requirements (safety glasses, reflective vests, hard hat, steel toe boots).
Requirements:
- Valid Driver's License
- Must have transportation to warehouse or job sites
- Be Punctual
- Willing to work weekends.
- Positive attitude and ability to learn new skills
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
