Responsibilities:
Review encounters and charges for proper coding
Submit billing data to insurance providers
Perform posting charges and completion of claims to payers in a timely fashion
Work claims and claim denials to ensure maximum reimbursement for services provided
Implement, maintain and report on programs initiated by the practice
Full working knowledge of EOBs from insurance companies
Payment posting
Medical Coder/ Biller qualifications and skills
Prefer 3 years experience as a Medical Coder/ Biller
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR). Preferably all scripts or veradigm
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Able to multi-task and meet deadlines
Summary
As a Medical Billing and Coding Specialist, you will be essential in managing patient records and ensuring accurate billing processes. Reporting to the Billing Manager, your core skills in medical terminology, EHR systems, and medical coding will be vital in processing claims efficiently. Your premium expertise in DRG, CPT, and ICD coding will enhance the accuracy of billing and compliance with healthcare regulations. By leveraging your medical office experience and knowledge of medical collections, you will contribute significantly to the financial health of our organization while ensuring quality patient care.
