Hi Plant People,
G&G Interiors is growing, and we’re on the lookout for exceptional individuals to join our Portland-based team! We’re currently hiring part-time Plant Technicians to help care for the vibrant plant displays at our commercial client sites, including some of the city’s most recognizable names, like The Ritz-Carlton and Jaguar Land Rover.
About the Role:
As a G&G Plant Technician, you’ll be responsible for keeping our clients’ interior plantscapes looking their best. That includes watering, fertilizing, pruning, grooming, pest control, plant rotation, repotting, replacements, occasional outdoor seasonal care, supporting holiday décor, and assisting with special new plant installs throughout the Portland Metro area.
Schedule & Growth Opportunity:
This position starts at 10–15 hours per week during training. After a skills-proving period, we’ll look to expand your hours and route size based on your performance, attention to detail, and ability to meet G&G’s high plant care standards.

Required Experience:

Roles & Responsibilities
As a G&G Plant Technician, you’ll care for a wide variety of commercial plant installations across the Portland Metro Area. Your work goes beyond just watering, it’s about helping our clients’ spaces thrive and look their best every day.
Your role will include:
- Providing full-spectrum plant care: watering, pruning, staking, dusting, cleaning, transplanting, and maintaining moss and decorative elements
- Keeping all display containers clean and dust-free
- Delivering consistent, high-quality service with professionalism and attention to detail
- Monitoring plant health and recommending replacements as needed
- Managing pest issues and promoting healthy, thriving plants
- Interacting positively with clients and delivering exceptional customer service
- Working independently while collaborating with the G&G team for installs and projects
- Troubleshooting issues and addressing service requests or client concerns
- Prioritizing and scheduling your daily/weekly route efficiently
- Reporting replacements and requesting support when needed
- Maintaining and reporting on tools and equipment condition
- Handling all plants and materials safely and responsibly
- Supporting the organization and upkeep of our warehouse and greenhouse
- Assisting with seasonal and holiday décor installations and removals
- Occasionally using ladders (up to 6 ft) for tall plant care
- Participating in team meetings and ongoing training
- Helping with specialty “plantscape” installations like vertical gardens, container groupings, and more
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who’s plant-savvy, reliable, and ready to be part of a small but mighty team.
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Proven plant care experience, indoor or outdoor. Horticulture knowledge is essential.
- Applicants must submit photos of plants they’ve personally cared for as part of the application.
- Valid driver’s license and dependable personal vehicle for daily routes
- Physically capable of lifting up to 65 pounds and doing physical work for 6–8 hours per day
- High school diploma required; relevant education or certifications are a plus
- Comfortable with electronic communication (Slack, text, email, phone)
- Independent, organized, and detail-oriented
- Tech-savvy enough for route updates, check-ins, and tracking tools
- Positive attitude, flexible, and willing to learn
- Must pass a background check
- Bonus: experience working with commercial property managers, facilities staff, or maintenance teams
