Position Overview:
The Irrigation Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, repairing and maintaining irrigation systems. This position operates heavy machinery for trenching and wiring installation.
Responsibilities:
- Design, install, maintain and repair irrigation systems including control valves, backflow prevention devices, and electronic control systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot system issues.
- Conduct site assessments and equipment inspections.
- Prepare and maintain necessary reports, documents, and maintenance records.
- Maintain on-site relations and communication with supervisor, clients, contractors and/or subcontractors.
- Perform work safely in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Maintain inventory for irrigation equipment
- Operate trenchers, tamps, excavator, skid loader, mini track loaders, pressure washer and boring equipment.
- Operate electrical diagnostic equipment including locators, multi meter, and wire tracers.
- Use hand tools such as shovels, picks, rakes, saws and pipe cutters.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years-of-age or older.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to operate trenchers, tamps, excavator, skid loader, mini track loaders, pressure washer and boring equipment.
- Possesses knowledge of methods, tools, equipment, materials, and practices used in the irrigation trade.
- Must have knowledge of PVC installation and techniques.
- Able to provide detailed irrigation site assessments.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, area, and square feet.
- Able to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.
- Work in a safe, skillful, and timely manner.
- Understand and use proper safety procedures.
- Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, and clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including reasoning and judgment.
- Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
