Position Overview:
The Landscape Operations Manager is responsible for scheduling and directing personnel and resources to provide quality, safe, and cost-effective services to clients. This role supports the Divisional Team in estimating, budgeting, and client relations.
Responsibilities:
Client Service
- Adhere to the company's Communication Promise: respond to client inquiries by 5 PM if contacted same day, and by 10AM the next day if contacted after 5PM.
- Ensure job site quality and appearance meet client and company standards.
- Understand client needs and maintain ongoing communication with Account Managers.
- Manage all landscape maintenance activities, including coordinating materials, personnel, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Consult with Account Managers to prepare specific action plans for scheduled services.
- Perform hands-on work with crews as needed to meet work and scheduling demands.
Employee & Safety Management
- Communicate with, counsel, train, discipline, develop, and review employees.
- Provide hands-on training and support to crew personnel in equipment operation, pruning techniques, safety, and quality standards.
- Prepare daily schedules for crews, emphasizing quality and efficiency.
- Monitor crew safety records and minimize accidents involving personnel and equipment.
- Keep emergency contact information up to date and ensure crews are appropriately attired and groomed.
- Oversee new hire paperwork and ensure accurate completion of all required items.
Administrative & Financial
- Manage and maintain administrative and record-keeping systems, including payroll and weekly schedules.
- Order materials needed for jobs and monitor costs and deliveries.
- Request purchase orders prior to purchasing and use them in accordance with company guidelines.
- Ensure proper upkeep, maintenance, storage, use, and training for company equipment.
- Implement and enforce management-issued policies and procedures.
- Participate in the end-of-month closing process and other assigned tasks.
Other Duties
- Ensure vehicle cleanliness.
- Perform minor equipment repairs such as pull cord replacement, spark plug replacement, belt repair, and tension adjustments.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Four years of hands-on field experience with 2 years of prior supervisory experience preferred.
- A two or four-year degree in a landscape-related field, general degree with coursework in the landscape field, or certification by a landscape association is preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
- Comprehensive knowledge of division functions, geographic responsibilities, and customer assignments.
- Ability to operate various lawn care machinery, including mowers, edgers, and backpack blowers.
- Commitment to providing exceptional customer service to managers, employees, and clients.
- Solid knowledge of plant and turf identification and care, including disease and insect knowledge.
- Proficiency in basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, area, and square feet.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, in English.
- Strong supervisory and problem-solving skills, including reasoning and judgment.
- Working knowledge of computer software (LMN and Microsoft Office), hardware, and servers.
- Proficiency in using a variety of computer software applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
