We are seeking an experienced and visionary Preschool Co-Director to join our leadership team. Position Summary:
The Preschool Co-Director is responsible alongside the other Director for overseeing all aspects of the preschool’s academic program, daily operations, and staff management. The Directors will create a vision for the school’s future, ensuring that the preschool provides a safe, stimulating, and high-quality educational experience for children. This position requires an individual who is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on leader, committed to fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in early childhood education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Management: Provide inspirational and operational leadership to a team of educators and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and ongoing professional development.
- Academic Excellence: Oversee the design and implementation of a developmentally appropriate, academically rigorous curriculum that supports the growth of cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. Ensure alignment with best practices in early childhood education and prepare students for a successful transition into kindergarten and beyond.
- Operational Oversight: Manage the day-to-day operations of the preschool, including staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Lead ongoing evaluations of curriculum, teaching practices, and student outcomes. Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement, ensuring the highest standards of education and care.
- Family & Community Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with families through regular communication, conferences, and involvement in school activities. Foster a sense of community by engaging parents, caregivers, and external partners in the preschool’s mission.
- Staff Development & Support: Hire, train, and mentor a high-performing team of educators. Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and offer professional development opportunities to ensure staff growth and satisfaction.
- Strategic Planning & Growth: Work with the leadership team to establish long-term goals, develop and implement strategic initiatives, and ensure the preschool's growth and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Education: CDA, Associate, Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Educational Leadership, or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years progressive experience in early childhood education, including a minimum of 1 year in a leadership or management role. 2-3 years pf Leadership experrience preferred. Proven track record of success in managing a high-quality preschool or early childhood program.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding of early childhood development, academic standards, and best practices in education.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, staffing, and operational workflows effectively.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives, while maintaining the preschool’s commitment to academic excellence and nurturing care.
- A passion for working with young children and fostering an environment that nurtures their intellectual curiosity and love of learning.
- Experience with family engagement, community partnerships, and building positive relationships with stakeholders.
