Position: Electrician – Oil & Gas Maintenance

The Oilfield Electrician is responsible for overseeing the electrical systems and equipment at specified oil sites. This role ensures the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitoring and Maintenance: Regularly inspect and monitor electrical equipment and systems, including generators, motors, transformers, and control systems
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize production downtime
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all electrical systems and components in an oil & gas environment, specific to Production, Compression, SWD/Water and Flowback environment
- Repairs: Execute repairs on electrical equipment and systems as needed, ensuring all work meets company and industry standards
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols, ensuring a safe working environment
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections
- Collaboration: Work closely with other team members, including day shift operators, engineers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operations
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively, implementing appropriate measures to secure the site and resolve issues
- Training: Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on the latest industry practices and safety standards
Education and Certification Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 3 years Oil & Gas Automation Specialist experience
- Electrical Assessment required
- Valid Texas or New Mexico Journeyman’s license, Master Electrician license or similar electrical certification highly preferred; additional safety or technical certifications a plus
Qualifications:
- Experience: Three (3) or more years’ experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an oilfield or industrial setting; Demonstrated and thorough knowledge of O&G Production, Compression, SWD/Water and/or Flowback highly desired
- Skills: Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, knowledge of electrical systems and equipment, ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work in outdoor environments and adverse weather conditions, lift heavy equipment, and stand or walk for extended periods
- Other: Must be able to work night shift, including weekends and holidays, as needed
- Working Conditions: Exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, including high-pressure equipment and chemicals and outdoor inclement weather conditions
