Position Summary:
GIS is looking for an experienced IT Project Manager. The ideal candidate should be well versed in overseeing and executing IT projects through the entire life cycle. The expectation is to manage cross functional IT related projects with multiple teams comprised of various IT specialists, business stakeholders, vendors, and contractors. The requirements for this role would include managing scope, timelines, capacity, and resources within a set budget. Excellent communication skills and risk mitigation are paramount to the success of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage IT related projects with cross functional teams
- Research, determine, define, and revise scope with stakeholders
- Assist IT managers with capacity for resources
- Aid in task identification and assignment
- Engage vendors and contractors on multiple levels
- Provide reporting metrics
- Maintain and adhere to multiple project budgets
- Contribute in a senior BA role on projects as needed
- Work with the ELT and IT management to recognize new projects
- Assign priority to projects in order to execute leadership’s vision
- Organize and assist with “roll-out”/”go-live” efforts
- Present project status or timelines in a professional and organized manner
- Hypercare and support organization post implementation
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum Bachelor’s degree in an IT related major (IS, CS, CE)
Experience: 15 years, in addition to 3 years as an IT Project Manager
Certification: PMP, CSM, CAPM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent preferred
Skills: Working knowledge of multiple divisions of a corporate IT department (Application
Development, Network Infrastructure, System Administration, Database Administration,
Engineering Systems, Software Implementation/Administration, and Service Desk)
Knowledge of Agile methodology (Azure DevOps a plus)
Microsoft Power Platform knowledge a plus (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power
Pages, and Data verse)
SharePoint Administration and basic design
Strong Business Analyst skill set
Basic SQL knowledge
Project Management software knowledge a plus (MS Project, etc.)
Excellent Communication, analytical thinking, problems solving, risk mitigation, organization,
flexibility, adaptability (multi-tasking), leadership and teamwork are a must
Physical Requirements:
- Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office setting. The role may require occasional travel.
- Physical Demands: This role requires the ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 20 pounds.
