The Director Quality Assurance plays a crucial role in ensuring quality assurance operations at G-III warehouses and 3PL facilities. This involves sampling incoming products to verify that vendors and manufacturers adhere to quality standards for shipping, packing, labeling, and production.
This position is based in New Jersey and focuses on implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes within warehouse environments. The Director will collaborate with the overseas Quality Control team to address quality issues and foster a proactive culture of accountability and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and oversee QA processes within G-III's warehouse facilities to ensure inbound and outbound products meet established quality standards.
- Lead QA operations at G-III's New Jersey warehouse and 3PL domestic facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards and operational efficiency.
- Develop sampling methodology for manufactured products.
- Direct warehouse-based inspections to identify defects, packaging issues, and non-compliance with product specifications.
- Address recurring quality issues using data to determine trends and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure that warehouse QA teams operate efficiently, effectively, and consistently, adhering to best practices and company policies.
- Lead on-site inspections to evaluate product quality upon arrival, addressing issues such as defective goods or improper packaging.
- Work with warehouse leadership to standardize QA procedures and build trust and collaboration between QA staff and facility managers.
- Foster an open, communicative environment to address operational gaps or performance issues within the facility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in quality management, supply chain, or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within the apparel industry.
- Proven experience in leading apparel QC operations within warehouse and distribution environments, including 3PL facilities.
- Strong knowledge of apparel quality standards, warehouse processes, and logistics workflows.
- Proficiency in data analysis and quality reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Experience with chargeback processes and financial accuracy.
