This position is aligned with Field Operations - focused on coaching, onboarding, and leadership capabilities. The internal business alignment may include: Operations, Warehouse, Logistics, Fleet, Equipment Services, Manufacturing and Production.

Position Summary

Field Training Specialist - Develops, builds, and manages aspects of G&J Pepsi’s learning ecosystem. They work with SME’s (subject matter experts) to create training solutions that develop and build employee capabilities. Acting as a liaison between field positions and the Corporate Learning & Development team, they determine learning needs, course/content gaps for a department and works to deliver solutions. The Field Training Specialist works cross functionally and independently with employee groups and subject matter experts to document, develop, design, test and deploy role-based learning paths, training plans, information resources, instructional materials and learning tools to experienced and non- experienced learners. They monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and analyze training needs. While conducting/facilitating training sessions, they may use a variety of instructional techniques, such as group discussions, role playing, lectures, videos, team exercises and simulations. They may also develop training manuals, instructional materials and teach training and coaching skills to supervisors and managers. Demonstrating and utilizing effective communication, needs analysis, project management, creativity, and evaluation skills, they document the vision for the learner experience to ensure the highest level of usefulness, desirability and training satisfaction. This is done by planning, creating and delivering impactful learning solutions that bring the voice of the job-role tasks to life. Specialist will conduct job skills task analysis, through field observation, conducting surveys, facilitating focus groups, meetings or interviews to gain the information needed to evaluate training programs and determine training needs. Individuals in this role must be end-user focused, outgoing, a self-starter, analytical, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. In addition, Specialists must be able to work independently and in a team environment to share information and collaborate on solutions

Essential Functions

    • Act as project lead on role-based training plan development for field teams.
    • Acts as liaison between field teams and Learning and Development leaders to provide training and course development expertise.

    • Designs, implements and monitors training programs for their assigned learners.
    • Conducts surveys, focus groups, meetings or interviews to gain the information needed to evaluate training programs and determine training needs.
    • Provides customer service and response to issues within the L&D scope to include the LMS, Resource Centers, technology and other tools and resources for their assigned learners.

    • Independently develops, tests, deploys, and facilitates entry and advanced level courses and training plans for both internal and external audiences.
    • Able to utilize advanced PowerPoint features and video authoring tools to create training videos.
    • Reports on project progress, user adoption, enrollment and training updates on a weekly basis to the Sr. Field Capabilities and Training Manager.

    • Works closely with the manager of training to deliver technology training on the LMS and other key areas within the field teams.

    • Proofreads and edits own work and work of others to improve quality, readability, consistency, and effectiveness of documentation.
    • Ensures that all information is consistent, easy to understand, and well organized.
    • Work with the CLD team members, providing technical and or administrative support of the learning management system. This may include: the communication of upgrades and enhancements to the system managing the creation and modifications of courses in LMS including internal and external seminars and workshops and various other learning activities.
    • Ability to identify and document job skills tasks and knowledge gaps through field observation, and interviews.
    • Work closely with various members of the field teams, alongside the CLD team members to develop and deploy training to the field teams.
    • Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately.
      • Accomplished presentation skills, including development and delivery.
      • Desire to continuously learn new features of development tools and software.
      • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.
      • High attention to detail.
      • Ability to prioritize, schedule and meet deadlines.
      • Work well both independently and within a team environment.
      • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic team monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and analyze training needs.
      • Requires the ability to travel regionally to evaluate, design, implement and monitor training curriculum and programs.
      • Training and facilitation experience and strong public speaking skills.
      • Advanced experience with Microsoft applications, technology/tools, and project management (the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously).

Education Level

Preferred – 4 Year/Bachelors Degree in Education, Human Resources , Business Administration or related field. 3-5 years of experience in the beverage industry, L&D or related field.

Experience

Years of Experience – 1 – 3 Course development and training preferred. Experience within the Pepsi Operations or Sales environment or external beverage industry experience is highly desired.

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in operating computers, tablets, and smartphones. Must be proficient in Office 365 applications and SharePoint. Must have advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (especially PowerPoint).
