Position Summary:
In this role you will be Prepare drinks for both guests and servers, ensure that the proper materials and supplies are on hand, and talk to guests. Ensure that minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages. Act as the cashier for the servers when necessary. Maintain the cleanliness of the bar area through disposing of all waste, clearing and cleaning all glassware, and wiping down bar and preparation areas. -Provide opening and closing inventory of spirits.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Make and serve drinks to guests and cocktail servers following established guidelines, procedures and policies regarding beverage and safety controls as prescribed by company standards.
- Perform all guest contact activities in a cordial, efficient and professional manner; maintaining a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Ring guest checks, collect cash and process credits and room charges in the exact manner outlined by company policies and procedures.
- Know and comply with state liquor laws.
- Ensure established pars are maintained.
- Respond to guest questions, issues and problems regarding transportation, hotel services and local events, points of interest and activities.
- Serve properly mixed and proportioned drinks, in a timely manner, to guests and servers.
- Have excellent working knowledge of liquors, beers and wines.
- Upsell and suggestive sell of both food and beverage to guests.
- Monitor environment in room (temperature, lighting, music, televisions).
- Observe and adhere to all liquor liability laws.
- Check identification of guests ensuring alcohol is serve only to those patrons of legal drinking age.
- Monitor the intake of alcohol of guests, prohibiting sale of alcohol to those who are intoxicated.
- Communicate with guests and respond to feedback in a positive manner, resolving any service issues
- Pick up bank and guest checks from prescribed area.
- Set up bar.
- Break down bar, lock up liquor, and store fruit and juices properly.
- Accept drink orders from guests/servers in proper calling order.
- Make cocktails in accordance Beverage Standards using standard jigger.
- Work professionally with all guests and fellow associates.
- Follow all check handling procedures, including all credit card policies and procedures.
- Red Line all drink orders from servers, checking all tickets for misrung items.
- Prepare beverage requisition for liquor.
- Inform all guests of Food, Beverage and Bar promotional activities.
- Complete all opening and closing duties as listed on the checklist.
- Comply with established procedures in the standard beverage manual regarding the serving of alcohol to and the identification of minors.
- Keep all bar areas neat and clean.
- Check and replace glassware where needed.
- Stock and replenish ice at all ice stations.
- Clean floors in area of responsibility at the end of each shift.
- Empty and steam-clean trashcans at the end of each shift or as necessary.
- Be responsible for the inventory of the soda and juices and their rotation of stock.
- Prepares mixed drinks by selecting and mixing ingredients according to recipes.
- Garnishes drinks by slicing and pitting fruits; preparing olives, and onions; placing on picks or in drinks.
- Serves beer by filling frozen glasses; retrieving and opening requested brand bottles.
- Services wine by opening bottles; decanting; and/or pouring by the glass offerings.
- Maintains attractive bar by arranging bottles and glasses for display; removing soiled glassware and empty bottles and cans; ensuring cleanliness.
- Maintains supplies by ordering, requisitioning, or re-stocking liquors, wines, beer, non-alcoholic ingredients, and equipment.
- Prepares trash for disposal by separating garbage and recyclable items.
- Maintains safe, secure, and healthy bar and patrons by following and enforcing standards and procedures; judging when customers have consumed too much alcohol; call for alternate transportation; complying with legal regulations.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; keeping abreast of drink trends; exploring new recipes.
- Enhances bar’s reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments; safeguarding customers.
- Will be required to report to work on time, wear a clean uniform and visible name at all times during schedules shift, as well as maintains a well groomed and professional appearance while on property.
- Responsible for the promotion of a safe and professional workplace through adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the G Lodging Food & Beverage Standard Operating Procedures.
- Has full knowledge, understanding and adheres of our company's handbook, SOP's, policies and processes.
- Practice safe working conditions under Occupational Safety and Health Administration guidelines to include Blood borne pathogens.
- Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions.
- Performs other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by supervisor or management.

- Must have alcohol training certification (TABC)
- Must have Food Handler permit.
