Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Experience in emergency medicine or working within a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is highly desirable.
Duties
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, collecting patient histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Provide medical administrative support including scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and handling insurance documentation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Educate patients on medication administration, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Demonstrate knowledge of anatomy and medical-surgical procedures to assist in various clinical settings.
- Support geriatric patients with specialized care needs.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent experience.
- Knowledge of emergency medicine practices is preferred.
- Familiarity with outpatient care settings is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of anatomy and medical terminology.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is a plus.
- Proficiency in medication administration techniques.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills and proficiency in medical administrative systems.
