We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team at our Primary Care Clinic. This is a full-time position with additional PRN (as-needed) shifts at our Urgent Care facility next door. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional service while managing a variety of administrative tasks. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential. Familiarity with medical terminology and scheduling is also important to ensure smooth clinic operations.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and assist with the check-in process.
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointments and follow-ups using Meditech or similar systems.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including ICD-10 coding for diagnoses.
- Professionally answer phone calls, address inquiries, and direct calls as needed.
- Handle clerical duties such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
- Ensure the reception area is organized, welcoming, and conducive to a positive patient experience.
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and patient flow.
- Provide excellent service to patients by addressing concerns and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Assist at the Urgent Care location on a PRN basis as needed, with flexibility in scheduling.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar administrative role is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical scheduling software (such as Meditech) is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding and other medical terminology is beneficial.
- Strong clerical skills and attention to detail in managing patient records.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and staff.
- Experience in a dental office setting is a plus but not required.
