Job Summary
The group lead is responsible for managing and directing the output and performance of a cell in the plant to ensure smooth and consistent operation. He or she will oversee the production of their cell or area to ensure that they meet time and quality standards set forth by plant management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Arrives 15 prior to the start of shift to prepare for meeting at 7:05 am or no less than five minutes after required start time
· Provides direction and training to direct report in cell and ensures operational objectives are met daily
· Reports output to production manager
· Works with other leads and management to effectively meet production goals
· Sets requirements and goals for each station and/or associate in their cell
· Train and manage staff on all job duties, standards, and requirements
· Maintains cleanliness of cell
· Holds associates accountable to production and safety within the plant
· Ensure team is prepared and ready for any changes in production
· Monitor production and provide timely and effective feedback to associates
· Check in with each associate on required intervals to track progress and performance
· Report production issues to Production Manager and come up with solutions and work arounds
· Responsible for continuous improvement of cell and associates
· Responsible for checking quality of incoming and outgoing parts and/or products in their cell
REQUIREMENTS:
- Good work history and strong work ethic

- Computer skills
- LTL shipment experience
- Inventory management experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
PREFERRED:
- Forklift certified
- Experience with Fed Ex and TPL shipping systems
EDUCATION
- High school diploma
Applicants must have the ability to work without close supervision, give attention to detail, and manage time constraints. One must have the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with company personnel in a total quality management team. Good judgment and the ability to seek advice and assistance when needed are required.
