Department: Finishing
Job Description
Supervises production employees in a manufacturing environment. Plans and assigns work, implements and enforces company policies and procedures while recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.
- Manage the activities of the production floor by following established procedures and approved processes. Supervise all production operations such as machining, processing and assembly.
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate departmental activities to fulfill sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas. Works to continuously improve in all areas.
- Ensures effective employee relations. Provides employee coaching and development. Motivates employees and assists with problem solving. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution.
- Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager.
- Tracks employee performance, attendance, and time keeping. Conducts performance reviews, discipline, accident investigations, etc. Use technical expertise to train employees and develop most efficient methods of production.
- Responsible for staffing the department and planning workload.
- Work harmoniously with other departments and functional units in the coordination of work to drive productivity, providing a good example to employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or at least 5 years Manufacturing Supervisory experience. (Or the equivalent in relevant GSP experience.)
- Must have prior manufacturing experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, equipment, production scheduling and operations.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and customer specifications.
- Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Time management, multitasking.
- Problem solving and analysis skills.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
- Computer skills, MS Office, Manufacturing software, etc
