G. Stephens, Inc. is tasked with operating the All-Akron Student Engineering Program (AASEP), one of the biggest youth STEM summer programs in Akron, OH, with the help and support of the City's administration. G. Stephens has operated AASEP for over a decade and is currently seeking new leadership to continue to lead the program into the future and beyond.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES
1. Assist in coordinating preparation for the AASEP events
2. Assist in running AASEP event programing during the AASEP STEM Fests and Workshops
3. Assist in working with participating firms to provide opportunities for students in the program
4. Assist in development and organization of all program materials from outreach to legal and technical documentation
5. Assist in the creation of the AASEP annual report with analysis of program outcome, including data and feedback from the program year
6. Writing and editing content for web, social media, print and video
7. Assisting in organizing and staffing public events such as town hall meetings, stakeholder meetings, community festivals and contractor outreach
8. Editing photos, documents, video
9. Managing social media accounts
10. Attending meetings, taking notes, preparing meeting minutes
11. Assist in event planning and execution
12. General administrative and organizational duties as needed.
KNOWLEDGE SKILL AND ABILITIES
1. Strong interpersonal skills, including a passion and ability to engage with diverse groups inclusive of people of color, women, veterans and other minority groups.
2. Strong writing, proofreading and editing skills
3. Ability to project a positive company image in oral and written communications with outside organizations and companies.
4. Availability to work Saturday events as needed.
5. Working knowledge of software packages such as Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Power Point.
6. Organizational and time management skills to prioritize workflow and ensure duties and projects are completed by deadlines.
7. Ability to work both independently and part of a team as tasks dictate
8. Be able to balance the workload in accordance with established workflow to assure timely completion;
9. Ability to multi-task and handle other duties as assigned are desired qualities in the successful candidate.
10. Provide general office support (scanning, copying, filing to SharePoint, internet research, etc.,)
SUGGESTED TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have a strong willingness to learn and be able to work on multiple projects, sometimes with shifting priorities or deadlines. Applicants should also be detail-oriented, able to work both independently and in a team environment, and have great oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree or Current Graduate student in Marketing, Business Development, Human Resources or similar degree program.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
