Role Summary / Purpose
The CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) Engineering Project Representative is responsible for :
Applying knowledge of Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and best practices to lead, promote, and organize effective project execution for capital engineering projects.
Developing and implementing Project Information Management Strategy and Plans, applying knowledge of Information Management and communication best practices to project information and data, contributing to overall project success.
Coordinating identification and resolution of project execution issues associated with engineering software tools.
Coordinating engineering project Data Flow and Integration between various engineering tools and disciplines.
Identifying and initiating improvement opportunities associated with engineering software tools and project information management.
Required Skills
Education / Certifications : Preferred Technical or University Degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 5 years Engineering Design experience and working knowledge of the lifecycle of a project
Knowledge of Project Engineering work processes
Demonstrated Leadership and interpersonal skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong computer / IT skills – including knowledge of CAE tools commonly used in the industry
Willing to do limited travel
Ability to work remotely and strong self-leadership skills
Desired Skills
Experience working with an Engineering / Procurement / Construction (EPC) Contractor executing capital projects
Knowledge and experience supporting the software tools and work processes used by Civil, Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, Piping, Process, Structural, and Project Control disciplines on a chemical industry project. Examples : Smart Plant P&ID, Smart Plant 3D, Aspen Plus, Micro Station

Activities
Coordinate Software Support
Coordinate implementation of standard software tools on engineering projects.
Assemble solution teams from various disciplines to solve software and IT related problems faced by engineering project teams.
Software Improvement : Bring engineering project input back to support teams for potential improvements.
Assemble Award Packages
Write deliverable requirements (document specifications) for contracts involving external EPCs.
Collaborate with external EPCs to determine software tools and versions required for the project.
Coordinate Communication Systems
Serve as liaison between Software Vendors, IT, EIMT, Project Teams, and external EPC companies.
Coordinate with Information Systems and all external parties (engineering contractors, joint venture partners, etc.) to insure that communication systems and tools are in place and functioning.
Ensure engineering project IT needs are met.
Project Information Management Strategy and Plans
Engage the Project Leadership Team and other stakeholders to develop Information Management Strategy and Plans.
Lead the implementation of the Information Management Strategy and Plans, including interfacing with other plans that collectively embody the Project Execution Strategy (PES).
Coordinate engineering project Data Flow and Integration between various engineering tools and disciplines.
Coordinate handover of engineering project deliverables.
Ensure engineering project intellectual property requirements are met.
