Industrial Engineer II
Reporting to the Lead Manufacturing Engineer, this position will be responsible for the continuous improvement of our safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the elimination of waste from our production processes, launching new products/processes into operations, and by educating and empowering our production staff.
As an Industrial Engineer II you will:
- Develop Value Stream Maps for micro and macro processes focused on information flow, production activities, material flow, customer value, push/pull systems, waste generation, takt time, and lead time.
- Lead process Kaizans for both production and office processes to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
- Investigate cutting edge methods to improve process safety, improve product quality, eliminate waste, and reduce cost.
- Participate in new product design reviews to provide feedback on DFMEA, PFMEA, and other assembly considerations.
- Support implementation of new products and product lines through creation of cell layout, landing of equipment, documentation and training.
- Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
- Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
- Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Uses data to identify and address problems
- Work directly with planning, purchasing and warehouse teams to right-size inventory
- Analyze ERP and MES systems and suggests improvements to improve the flow of information
- Lead/support structured problem-solving teams
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelors Degree in, Industrial or related Engineering field
- Has 5 years experience working in manufacturing environment utilizing LEAN methods
- Has Experience with implementing lean manufacturing in an organization
- Is Computer proficient; confident with data analysis programs
- Possesses problem solving skills with experience using root cause analysis techniques
Ideally you will also have:
- Lean Six Sigma or other problem-solving certification
- 2D CAD experience for layouts
- Basic 3D CAD experience is a plus
- Experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing environment.
The Physical Demands / Working Conditions are:
- General Office Environment, PC use
- Light Lifting (occasional 25 lbs or less)
- Standing/walking for 2hrs at a time in a factory setting
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $72,980 94,915 annually.
