Intern - Manufacturing Application Development
The Manufacturing Application Development intern will support the development of the Ignition manufacturing execution system (MES). Day to day intern activities include:
- Designing and implementing data management strategies for the integration of MES solutions with our ERP system, test platforms, and plant automation equipment that can be scaled with G&W Electric manufacturing growth.
- Modifying and adapting the MES system to the production and business needs of the organization including customizing existing MES software, or helping to drive the addition of new software modules, to optimize manufacturing processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and improve system reliability.
- Assessing and helping implement traceability reporting.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in programming languages Python and JavaScript preferred.
- Familiarity with REST APIs.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of SQL and databases.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with web frameworks (e.g., Django, React, or Node.js) is a plus.
- Knowledge or experience in machine learning and data processing techniques is a plus.
