Job Title: Purchasing Lead
Role Summary:
The Purchasing Team Lead is responsible for the performance, quality, and daily management of their designated Purchasing Team. This role organizes and drives resources to achieve procurement of materials that support production plans and demand forecasts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for the buying team, guiding and directing activities and projects.
- DIRECT A TEAM OF BUYER PERSONNEL THROUGH DAILY MANAGEMENT TO IMPROVE MATERIAL AVAILABILITY AND ELIMINATE PRODUCTION SHORTAGES, WHILE OPTIMIZING INVENTORY ON HAND.
- Maintain and execute standard work of established purchasing policies and procedures to ensure economic utilization of people and material.
- Work with others in the organization to understand material demands and forecast purchase requirements to meet G&W Electric customers and business purchasing demands.
- Manage and support Buyers in the execution of supplier development management programs.
- Manage supplier performance and development, including supplier scorecards maintenance and communication.
- Partner closely with designated team Commodity Managers to align on forecast, inventory strategy, cost, and utilize as a second level of escalation when managing existing supply base.
- Resolve contract discrepancies, analyze supplier performance, evaluate current processes, and implement internal improvements.
Requirements:
- Holds a Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Material Management or related field.
- Has 8 years of supply chain management experience in a global manufacturing environment.
- Possesses demonstrated accomplishments in managing material costs in both favorable and unfavorable commodity price environments.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, as needed.
