Founded in 1968, our areas of expertise include metal stamping, laser cutting, fabrication, manual and robotic welding, tool and die work, powder coating and assembly. Our modern facilities include 190,000 square feet of manufacturing space between three facilities located in Fairfield, OH. We specialize in numerous industries including construction, transportation, energy, and defense. We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Customer Service Specialist to join our team in Fairfield, OH
Position Overview: This position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs, providing personalized service, and proactively addressing issues. The Customer Service Specialist will work closely with both external customers and internal teams, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty, while supporting the overall success of G&W Products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong customer relationships by understanding customer needs, providing personalized service, and proactively addressing concerns to ensure satisfaction and loyalty.
- Communication & Support: Provide proactive service through various communication channels including in-person interactions, phone calls, email, Teams, and customer portals as needed.
- Sales Support: Assist the Sales and Program Management teams in fostering customer relationships and driving growth by attending internal meetings, visiting customers, and supporting the organization of events and site visits.
- Order Management: Oversee customer order entry and management, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders. Expedite orders as necessary by coordinating with Operations and other departments.
- Accounts Receivable Support: Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies, unpaid items, and related issues concerning pricing, credits, and other account-related matters.
- Cross Department Collaboration: Work closely with Operations and Purchasing teams to review customer demand, forecast changes, and ensure fulfillment of customer needs.
- Reporting & Compliance Support: Provide support in preparing compliance reports and other customer-specific reports as requested by customer commodity and purchasing teams.
- Additional Duties: Perform other duties assigned to support business operations and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, or a related field, preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, sales support, or related field

Skills & Abilities:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to customer service and internal team collaboration.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Other Requirements:
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to travel for customer visits and meetings, as necessary.
Work Environment:
This is a full-time office based position located in Fairfield, OH. Regular working hours are Monday – Friday 8:00 – am – 5:00 pm with occasional travel to customer sites and external meetings.
