Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to join our finance team here at G&Z Transport, LLC. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling financial transactions, maintaining records, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a working knowledge of accounting principles related to the logistics sector, and understanding of General Ledger accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable (AP) transactions ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Reconcile invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports.
- Maintain accurate financial records and assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Prepare and process payments, including vendor invoices and freight bills.
- Assist in reconciling bank statements and general ledger accounts.
- Generate financial reports related to transportation costs, fuel expenses, and other logistics-related expenditures.
- Support the finance team in audits and compliance-related matters.
- Communicate with vendors and internal departments to resolve financial discrepancies.
- Assist in payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements.
- Perform data entry and maintain accounting software updates.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, industry regulations, and financial best practices.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, preferably within the logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, financial regulations, and industry compliance standards.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in the logistics, transportation, or supply chain sector.
- Familiarity with freight billing, transportation cost analysis, and related financial procedures.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Salary : $50,000 - $60,000
