About the Role
G2 seeks a hard-working, driven and engaged accounting & finance leader to manage a team and collaborate with leadership to ensure all finance, accounting and, over time, associated operations systems and initiatives enable continued excellence and scale. The VP, Finance’s contributions will be essential to ensure G2 continues to profitably scale to meet client needs.
What You’ll Do
- Accounting management:
- Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting functions of G2 with overall responsibility for timely and accurate production of financial information to G2 leadership and teams
- Oversee AP/AR functions, including client and vendor/contractor onboarding, payroll, and invoicing on a weekly and monthly basis and internal expenses review and reimbursement
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal corporate accounting procedures, and reporting requirements
- Manage the general ledger, including reconciliation of month-end/quarter-end/year-end close activities (journal entries, reconciliations, P&L review, etc.)
- Ensure proper support for internal compliance matters for client engagements; ensure that all systems support accurate and timely recording of financial activity including revenue, expenses, assets and liabilities
- Oversee the production and maintenance of monthly Client Project P&L’s, product level P&L’s and industry group P&L’s
- Provide strategic oversight for cash management, including forecasting and managing disbursements and collections
- FP&A management:
- Collaborate with G2 leadership and teams, providing insights and analysis to drive decision-making based on financial indicators and forecasts
- With President, COO and Talent Team, support the Company's strategic financial planning, including long-term growth strategies, investment, and capital allocation decisions
- Act as the primary liaison and oversight for external reviewers and other relevant stakeholders
- Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and usability of financial data for internal decision-making and external reporting
- Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization
- Oversee the financial planning and analysis activities, including the development and execution of revenue and P&L forecasting, and annual budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with the Company's strategic objectives
- Other finance-related matters:
- Manage and oversee the Company’s annual financial review including oversight of external accounting service provides.
- Recommend and implement appropriate systems, controls, and processes to promote organizational growth
- In close partnership with deal leaders, track, report and ensure weekly analytics on resource allocation and capacity utilization; manage weekly pipeline meetings to ensure close alignment and future projections
- Oversee Senior Associate, FP&A on analytics on capacity utilization and projections to inform deal management and forecast hiring needs
- With Senior Accountant, own and process compensation including incentive commission payments, quarterly bonuses, pay audits, bimonthly compensation reconciliations and payroll processing
- Partner with VP, Marketing & Digital Transformation on any finance implications of associated work
- Manage lender relationship with G2’s financial partner, including oversight of financial statement review process to support bank reporting
- Lead continuous improvements to cost controls, cost containment and efficiency opportunities
What We Look For
- Degree in accounting and/or finance required, CPA and/or MBA preferred. Public accounting experience is a plus
- Background as a Controller, VP of Finance or similar role leading financial statement close processes, analyzing financial data, reports, statements, and projections for internal and external audiences
- 10 years hands-on general ledger accounting experience; treasury/cash management experience; experience working for an investment bank, consulting firm, or financial or professional services industry is a plus
- Experience owning complex compensation programs & associated payroll functions; benefit & 401k administration. Knowledge of U.S. tax accounting and filing requirements
- Leadership of finance and accounting teams. Able to build and lead a small and efficient team. Interested in retaining individual contributor work
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including GAAP
- Strong analytical and organizational skills; extremely detail-oriented
- Advanced experience with QuickBooks
- Strong Excel and PPT skills
- Experience with information technology systems including implementation of key performance indicators and business intelligence reporting platforms
- Familiarity with Box, Harvest, Power BI, and Salesforce software platforms
- A personal commitment to fiscal integrity and the ability to manage highly confidential information with the utmost discretion
- Skilled at active listening, building trust and respect, and critical thinking
- Demonstrated experience at advancing process improvement. Extremely results-oriented
