G2 Secure Staff is expanding and looking to add to the Assistant Payroll Manager Agent operations in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)
The Assistant Payroll Manager is responsible for supporting the payroll department by ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll, assisting with payroll-related inquiries, maintaining employee records, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position reports to the Payroll Manager and works closely with the HR and Finance teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- HS Diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in accounting or a related field in preferred.
- A minimum of six years of in-house payroll processing and reporting requirements for federal, state and public agency in organizations of 1000 employees
- A minimum two years of recent related supervisory and/or managerial level Payroll systems knowledge of ADP Vantage and WFN.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Experience with payroll software systems (ADP, WFN)
- Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of California payroll regulations and tax laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees and management
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive employee information
B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, including those with conflicting and recurring deadlines

- Ability to complete assigned duties within deadlines despite interruptions
- Advanced organization, time management, workflow prioritization and follow through skills

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, to include evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- Must pass drug test.
- Satisfactory criminal background check.
C. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect and review employee timecards and other attendance records for accuracy.
- Input employee hours, pay rates, and deductions into the payroll system.
- Verify data for accuracy and address discrepancies with supervisors or employees.
- Calculate gross pay, overtime, commissions, and other earnings based on company policies.
- Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Process various deductions including federal and state taxes, health insurance, retirement contributions, and garnishments.
- Ensure compliance with California payroll regulations including minimum wage and overtime laws and penalty pay.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records, including personnel files and tax forms.
- Generate and distribute payroll reports to management, including paystubs and summaries.
- Prepare necessary payroll tax filings (e.g., state unemployment, withholding) in accordance with deadlines.
- Answer employee questions regarding payroll deductions, paychecks, and benefits.
- Assist with resolving payroll discrepancies and issues in a timely manner.
- Provide guidance on completing necessary payroll forms and documentation
- Stay updated on California payroll laws and regulations.

- Assist with internal and external payroll audits by providing necessary documentation.
