Job Title: Operations Supervisor
Description:
The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of a specific operation, including staff management, scheduling, time sheets, and reporting to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and maintain the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Develop and implement safety plans for stations
- Maintain Quality Assurance oversight for operational issues related to performance and safety
- Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
- Schedule personnel daily and furnish copies to Department Managers
- Monitor employee activity and make adjustments as needed
- Ensure employees follow all regulations and procedures
- Verify employee login times and ensure accuracy
- Deal courteously and tactfully with fellow employees and client representatives
- Communicate effectively with fellow employees and client representatives
- Make recommendations to Department Managers regarding personnel performance
- Communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to Department Managers or General Managers
- Ensure state licenses and training records are current
- Be on call 24 hours a day
- Report inquiries and other major incidents to Department Managers
- Respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and passengers in a courteous manner
- Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff, and public in a courteous manner
- Attend meetings and in-services as required
- Utilize appropriate communication channels and maintain records, reports, and files as required
- Wear proper uniforms and business attire as directed by company officials
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
- Use company and client equipment, supplies, and resources in a conscientious and cost-effective manner
- Perform quality assurance service audits as directed to conform to client specifications and/or procedures
- Perform other duties as requested
- Comply with all safety requirements, including using only equipment that has been trained on, immediately reporting unsafe conditions and workplace injuries, wearing proper PPE, and attending required safety training
- Ensure employees are following all safety requirements through conducting safety briefings and observations, oversight of their participation in required training, that they are wearing proper PPE, and that thorough accident investigations are conducted following an injury
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience in a shift work environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have reliable transportation
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees, and the public
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Must complete a criminal background check
- Must be able to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security-sensitive identification badge
- Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS)
