Job Summary: The Regional Operations Director is responsible for the oversight of day-to-day airport operations, and provide senior support to location management teams to ensure successful operations.
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of 5 or more years of management in Terminal and Ground Handling environments
- Four (4) years of progressive supervisory or management experience
- Four (4) years of experience in airline operations
- Must have budget management experience to include forecasting, creation and adjustment of current budget.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, and data entry.
- Adaptable and flexible to an ever-changing work environment.
- Must be able to travel extensively with overnight stays
- Proven track record of building positive relationships with managers across multiple locations
- Must be able to read, understand, direct and carry out instructions in English
- Must have a reliable mode of communication and transportation.
B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Treat all information as confidential.
- Possess the tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public.
- Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English.
- Must pass a drug tests.
- Must be able to clear a criminal background check.
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge.
- Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
C. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide senior support to location management teams to ensure successful operations.
- Ensure all service level, financial and budgetary goals are consistently met in each locations.
- Foster solid customer relationships with all clients on a local and corporate level.
- Oversight of the stations Safety Management System (SMS).
- Develop and communicate the station safety plan.
- Responsible for Service Level Agreements (SLA's) related to station operational performance.
- Must be able to perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary.
- Must be familiar with all pertinent (Company/Client/Government Agencies).
- Monitor client / location management activity and makes adjustments as needed.
- Make sure employees follow all regulations/procedures.
- Review labor reports to insure billing for accuracy.
- Deal courteously and tactfully with clients and management teams.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and client representatives.
- Make recommendations to General Managers regarding personnel performance.
- Communicate safety hazards and equipment problems to Risk Management team.
- Respond timely to inquiries from corporate support, client, staff, and passengers.
- Maintain management succession planning within assigned region locations.
- Mentor, coach, counsel and correct area management staff as needed.
- Inform support management of area location needs and problems and secure all support needs.
- Project a positive image and respond to inquiries from clients, staff and public in a courteous manner.
- Attend meetings and participate in conferences calls as required.
- Conduct area staff meetings and visit area sites regularly.
- Represent G2 in site walk-thru visits and business proposal presentations as needed.
- Utilize appropriate communications channels and maintain records, reports and files as required.
- Must be in proper business attire as directed by company officials.
- Secure and maintain location identification badges as needed.
- Adhere to and enforce company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company and area objectives.
- Utilize company and client equipment, supplies and resources in a conscientious cost effective manner.
- Perform quality assurance service audits to conform to client's specifications and/or procedures.
- Provide project management leadership with new business start-ups within and outside assigned region.
- On call 24 hours per day.
- Perform other duties as requested.
