Job Description
Job Summary:
The Safety Compliance Auditor is responsible for assessing workplace safety practices, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and identifying potential risks. This role involves conducting daily briefings and observations to provide guidance to front line employees and establish a strong safety culture. The Safety Compliance Auditor will also schedule audits, prepare reports, corrective actions plan, and recommend improvements to enhance overall workplace safety and compliance with industry standards including SMS and OSHA.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
A minimum of an associate's degree is required.
Minimum of 2 years of ramp services experience is required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and report-writing skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.
Must be able and willing to work shifts, including extended hours.
PREFERRED EXPEREIENCE
Leadership experience in the airline or airport operations experience
Knowledge of SMS and OSHA standards
B. PERSONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English in both verbal and written communication.
Ability to work from verbal and written instructions.
Treat all information as confidential.
Must be able to lift, stoop, squat, push stand and/or bend throughout shift.
Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests.
Must pass pre-employment background check.
Must be able to verbally direct in English.
Must be a citizen of the United States or possess the necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS).
Must have clear driving record.
C. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct regular safety audits and observations to assess compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
Review workplace policies, procedures, and practices to identify potential safety risks and recommend corrective actions.
Support safety trainings to frontline personnel.
Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS)
Conduct safety briefings.
Evaluate the effectiveness of current safety programs and suggest improvements.
Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and provide recommendations.
Develop audit reports that include findings, risk assessments, and action plans for management.
Collaborate with department heads and employees to improve safety awareness and adherence to safety policies.
Ensure all safety documentation, reports, and records are up to date and properly maintained.
Stay updated with industry trends, safety regulations, and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
Assist in developing and implementing safety programs and initiatives.
Work may involve exposure to industrial environments and hazardous conditions requiring PPE.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and presentations.
