GA Foods is seeking a driven and customer-focused Account Manager to oversee client relationships and support business growth within an assigned territory. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day client activities, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and driving market share expansion. As a key client advocate, the Account Manager will proactively communicate with stakeholders, resolve issues, provide consultative support on GA Foods’ products and services, and deliver actionable feedback to internal teams, manage transportation logistics and customers purchase orders. Success in this role will be measured by client satisfaction, retention, and overall growth within the territory.
Account Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Manage development of client activities to grow market share base for GA Foods, to include:
- Participate in transition meetings for new accounts with sales and operations
- Understand the business needs of each account
- Solve client's business problems & provide thought leadership
- Support & deliver marketing programs to assigned accounts
- Develop strategic business relationships with each assigned client
- Achieve or exceed GA Foods’ business objectives related to market expansion and customer satisfaction
- Process customer orders daily and oversee customer service for all remote locations from the corporate office.
- Conduct all business activities with the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
- Identify, establish, and cultivate referral sources to generate new sales opportunities
- Provide customer feedback and recommendations to internal GA Foods organization to improve products and services
- Efficiently prioritize and manage multiple account responsibilities and initiatives
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal departments (Sales, Marketing, and others) to align on client needs and business goals
- Support sales efforts by identifying growth opportunities, articulating the value of new services, and contributing to key stages of the sales process (including lead generation, RFP development, presentations, and client transitions)
- Coordinate and participate in industry conferences and events to engage with prospective and existing customers
- Oversee and coordinate transportation logistics to ensure timely and efficient service delivery for customers
Account Manager Preferred Skills, Degree and Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree(preferred but not required) in a related field (Healthcare, Social Work, Nursing, Nutrition, or Account Services preferred), or an equivalent combination of education and experience (minimum 5 years)
- 3 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: Account Services, Care Management and Nutrition Services
- Proactive self-starter with a high degree of initiative
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve results
- Analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to address both strategic and operational challenges
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service
- High level of energy, persistence, and drive to meet and exceed goals
- Strong technical aptitude, including proficiency with computer systems and software
- Consistently show positive attitude and professional demeanor
- Travel Requirements: Limited but within assigned territory
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV preferred
Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Frequent sitting, standing, and walking are daily activities. Some bending and filing may be required (<10% of time). This would require the ability to lift files (<10 lbs.), open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Over 2/3 of Time: See; Sit; Use hands to finger/handle/feel; Talk or Hear.
