Pine Ridge Baptist Church in Brunswick, GA is seeking a Part-Time Music Director - $14,000.00 - 8 - 10 hours a week with the potential to work additional hours for authorized special events. The primary responsibilities include planning, preparing, rehearsing, directing, and recruiting the Church Choir for the Sunday morning and evening service and authorized special events as required. The Music Director will be supervised by the church pastor.
Duties
- Select musical arrangements and hold weekly choir rehearsals.
- Prepare and direct church choir to participate in Sunday services and other programs approved by the pastor.
- Lead, plan, and direct special music for Christmas, Easter, Homecoming, youth events, and other designated special priority events.
- Maintain a music library, with assistance from volunteers, by ensuring the purchasing, cataloging, distributing, and filing of needed music.
- Coordinate and cooperate with the church audio-visual staff to ensure proper coordination regarding support for the church music ministry.
- Oversee the needed maintenance of the church piano, organ, drum set, and other required musical instruments.
- Encourage the church music ministry by inviting members of the church family to participate in the ministry.
- Communicate with the church youth ministry regarding music support for youth activities and presentations.
- Coordinate with the church pastor and other church ministries for support of special music-related activities.
- Coordinate and cooperate with church social media activities.
- Arrange for substitute music director coverage when not available for routine duties.
- Successfully conduct other duties as assigned by the church pastor.
Qualifications and Skills
Required : Mature Christian who has accepted Jesus Christ as his / her Lord and Savior and is committed to serving God and being a role model of Christian faith and service.
Required : Comfortable and supportive of different styles of Christian music such as classic, traditional, and contemporary.
Required : Ability to read and direct music.
Required : Leadership, communication, and organizational skills sufficient to lead a church music ministry.
Preferred : Bachelor's degree in music, education, biblical studies, or similar concentration.
Preferred : Instrumental and / or vocal skills.
