Director of Survey

We are currently seeking a dynamic and self-motivated Director of Survey to lead our growing surveying team. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership abilities, a deep understanding of clients and business operations, and a passion for working in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This individual will be responsible for business development, client satisfaction, and overseeing the profitability and success of the survey department.

As a "seller-doer," the Director will actively pursue new projects, ensure the successful delivery of those projects, and take ownership of the firm’s growth. We are looking for a transformative leader with technical expertise who can mentor and develop employees, manage teams effectively, and influence change at all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee business development efforts, client relations, and P&L responsibility for the survey department.
• Lead project pursuits and ensure successful project execution from start to finish.
• Mentor and develop employees, fostering a strong team-oriented environment.
• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels.
• Provide leadership and guidance to technical staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.
• Successfully initiate client contact, negotiate contracts, and secure new business opportunities.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of local experience in the surveying field.
• Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RLS or PLS) in the state of Arizona.
• Strong reputation and expertise in civil engineering and surveying.
• Proven ability to plan, organize, supervise, and coordinate complex technical work.
• Track record of successfully initiating client relationships, negotiating contracts, and obtaining new business.
• Exceptional listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
