Currently, we have an immediate and exciting need for a Sr. Process Engineer-Quality at our facility located in Charleston (Goose Creek), SC. Essential Functions, Duties And Responsibilities
- Ensure that both internal and external customer requirements are consistently met by effectively driving and optimizing the plant’s Quality Management System.
- Propose, sponsor, and lead initiatives aimed at enhancing product performance and increasing yields, utilizing tools such as CAPA, 5 Whys, ECRs, JDIs, and RIEs to drive continuous improvement.
- Support projects focused on cost reduction, yield improvement, and cycle time reduction by leveraging tools such as DMAIC, SPC, Design of Experiments, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Uses quality Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to effectively analyze process concerns and performance gaps.
- Provide clear visibility and guidance on the plant’s KPIs, ensuring that objectives for first-pass quality and productivity are well-defined and that the responsible teams have the resources needed to drive improvements.
- Collaborate with customers to cultivate strong relationships and build trust, driving collaborative improvement projects at the plant.
- Participates in strategic planning, goal-deployment, business analysis, and organizational design activities through the site Business Team.
- Provide leadership and direction to the Quality Lab Technicians in areas such as safety, quality, cost, efficiency, and productivity.
- Bachelor’s Degree (Mechanical, Chemical, Metallurgical or Materials Engineering). Engineering Degree preferred.
- Six Sigma / Lean Manufacturing Certifications preferred but not required.
- At least 3 years of experience in technical problem solving or customer communication in a manufacturing environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to independently prepare and deliver presentations and training materials.
- Ability to interface with the organization, customers, and suppliers acting as a coach and trainer.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams with focus on strategic planning/execution for new processes as well as driving continual improvement in safety, quality, and productivity
- Strong organizational and project management leadership abilities can coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience in creating or revising process documents such as Control Plans, FMEA's, JSA’s and Standard Work job instructions
