JOB SUMMARY
The ECE Teaching Assistant is responsible for assisting the Lead Teacher in
developing and implementing a program of activities that promotes the social,
emotional and physical development of each child enrolled.
Help the lead teacher in managing a classroom of 12 children 2.5 - 5 years of age.
Instruct and supervise students in social and developmental activities, help with
snack time and generally provide one-on-one attention when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Previous experience working with children, early childhood age preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CPR/First Aid certified or ability to get it in 30 days of hire.
- Bloodborne Pathogen certification or ability to get in 30 days of hire
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Must be able to lead and follow, work well with others and be a good
- Art knowledge and background experience preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the lead teacher
- Greet students and parents.
- Interacting with children, classroom management, teaching and implementing
- Preparing snacks.
- Teaching/Leading/Coming up with lessons, actively and creatively planning
curriculum to meet the needs of students. **At least a week to a month in
advance**
- Prepping lessons or projects prior to the day of.
- Helping them get shoes and jackets on.
- Creating & Assisting with transitions in the classroom.
- Changing diapers when needed and potty time.
- Assisting with students' evaluations on cognitive and social development.
- Be prepared to take on the role of lead teacher when needed.
- Help with cleanliness and orderliness of the classroom.
- Assist Lead Teacher in maintaining records on each child’s progress and
- Participate in staff meetings, school events, and staff development.
- Maintain a well-organized, safe and attractive classroom environment conducive
- Assist Lead Teacher in planning and implementing the daily program of activities
based on principles of child development and in accordance with the program’s
curriculum.

- Observe each child daily to assess skills, interests, and needs and use this
- Establish a positive relationship with each child’s family and share information
- Develop a positive relationship with each child and promote the development of
