What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nursery Technician position at Gabriel Valley Farms?
We are a USDA Certified Organic wholesale nursery. We are looking to immediately hire 1 to 2 people to assist with various tasks around the nursery. This is a seasonal/temporary position. Could be full or part-time. A background in growing or horticulture is a plus.
Duties may include but are not limited to: Transplanting starts, watering plants as needed, weeding and general maintenance of starts, cleaning and organizing of greenhouse spaces, application of organic pesticide and/or fertilizer, disposal of unsellable plant material.
The ideal candidate for this position would have a general availability of 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday. The ability to work solo or with a team is a plus. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus. Plant knowledge is not mandatory but highly preferred. 3 work references are required.
This is a very physical job, including standing and walking for extended periods, frequent lifting, bending and flexing. It is performed both inside and outdoors in most weather.
This is a temporary/seasonal position. Could potentially be permanent for the right candidate. Busy season is expected to run through May. Ideal start date as soon as possible.

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
