The Special Education Coordinator is an integral part of the school’s instructional leadership team and responsible for overseeing programs that provide educational assistance to children with disabilities. With specialized expertise in the instruction of students with special learning needs within or outside the mainstream classroom, the Coordinator collaborates with the team to ensure that the needs of all students are met. The Coordinator works under the direction of the Director of Special Education to develop a comprehensive suite of resources and processes for the identification, placement, and support of students across the spectrum of academic ability. In addition, the Special Education Coordinator will maintain and monitor special education data for the school site. The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central.
