The Art Teacher is a passionate educator who empowers each student to grow and meet their full potential. Working in collaboration with arts teachers, classroom teachers, RSP teachers, and school administrators, the Visual Arts Teacher implements a rigorous visual arts curriculum in a learning environment which nurtures and develops the socio-emotional intelligence and capacity of their students. The Visual Arts Teacher helps build students’ confidence in their visual arts skills, enhance students’ creativity and collaboration with classmates, and build connections between the arts and other aspects of learning both inside and outside of the school. GCS teachers embrace learning differences and construct opportunities that nurture all students’ growth. The mission of Gabriella Charter Schools is to join academic rigor with the creativity of dance to engage the hearts and minds of young people in underserved communities, empowering them to excel both inside and outside the classroom. Gabriella Charter Schools is composed of two high-performing, dance-themed charter schools in the Los Angeles community. GCS 1 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Echo Park. GCS 2 serves grades TK-8 and is located in the community of Historic South Central.
