- Attaches binding, braids, skirts or other trimming materials or fabrics to upholstered frames.
- Attaches bindings or apply solutions to edges of cut material to prevent traveling.
- Attaches fasteners, grommets, buttons, buckles, ornamental trim, and other accessories to covers or frames, using hand tools.
- Examines furniture frames, upholstery to locate defects.
- Fits, installs, and secures material on frames, using hand tools, power tools, glue, cement, and/or staples.
- Makes custom upholstered furniture, using hand tools and knowledge of fabrics and upholstery methods.
- Reads work orders and apply knowledge and experience with materials in order to determine types and amounts of materials required to cover workpieces.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Five or more years of experience as an upholsterer.
- Ability to perform skilled tasks with occasional problem solving to resolve issues.
- Ability to multi-task and manage many responsibilities and projects at one time.
- High attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret work orders.
- Ability to interact individually with users and work cross-functionally throughout the organization.
