We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards for taste and presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that all food safety and hygiene practices are adhered to while providing an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistic flair.
- Ensure the highest standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained in accordance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality while minimizing waste.
- Assist in training kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Monitor food preparation processes to ensure consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
- Stay updated on current trends in sushi cuisine and incorporate innovative ideas into menu offerings.

Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the culinary or restaurant industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Experience working in a kitchen or dietary department, with an emphasis on culinary skills related to sushi making.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques related to Japanese cuisine.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A passion for culinary arts, particularly in the area of sushi and Japanese culture.
- Some restaurant managerial experiences in ordering, inventory, managing team
- Light administration duties and some computer work related skills
