This position assumes the primary responsibility of maintaining all budgets and accounting records for each funding source implemented by the agency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain accounting records, reports and statements for department and grants. Maintains records of travel vouchers and payments. Maintains expenditures records and books of accounting in accordance with established local procedures. Prepares routine and special accounting statements to enable Elder Affairs director to track budget expenditures. Prepare funds for deposit into the bank. Maintains system of in-kind vouchers and recording of in-kind match contributions. Attend required trainings. Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly and semi-annual costs and expenditures reports. Prepares federal and state tax reports as required. Stores year-to-date reports on permanent diskette and stores in safety box. Maintains back-up data on a flash drive for safekeeping. Prepares preliminary audit materials and presents during the audit. Reports any suspected elder abuse, neglect, or exploitation to the Abuse Registry and Director. Other duties as assigned by the Director. Responsible for compiling reports and any other financial documents required by funding sources in a timely fashion. Responsible for preparing fiscal reports requested by the Foundation Board. Responsible for preparing quarterly financial reports for transmission through the Treasurer of the Board and must be present for the reading of these reports as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma with 4-8 years’ experience in professional accounting and a completed course in bookkeeping. A two-year degree with 12 years’ experience in professional accounting and bookkeeping. Knowledge of MIP Sage or other systems required by the Area Agency on Aging, Level II clearance from DOEA.
