Gadsden County High School seeks an Assistant Principal to join our school family. The successful candidate will exhibit the ability to assist the school principal in the execution of the organization's vision & mission while establishing a positive, safe learning environment where students and staff achieve and thrive.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Instructional Leadership
- Assists the principal in implementing the instructional leadership vision for the school
- Uses assessment data to assist teachers and parents in meeting student needs
- Monitors student progress in areas of academic development
- Mobilizes school and community resources to improve the learning environment
School Operations
- Plans and schedules his/her own time and that of others for efficient and effective operation in alignment with the operational mission of the school
- Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues at the school.
- Collects and analyzes data for school improvement
- Communicates effectively including the use of technology for efficiency
- Encourages the use of electronic technology for instruction
- Implements the integration of technology in the classroom
- Follows through with all assigned duties
- Models ethical behavior in all interactions as specified in the educator code of ethics
School Leadership
- Assists the principal in leading and cultivating a culture of excellence for employees and students
- Assists the principal in the recruitment, selection, and coaching of personnel
- Acts to ensure a safe, efficient, legal and effective teaching and learning environment.
- Assists in managing the school, its operations, facilities, and resources to enhance learning
- Acts with integrity, fairness, and honesty

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent.
- Possession or eligible for a Florida Educator’s Certificate in Educational Leadership, Administration and Supervision, or Educational Administration
- Three (3) years successful teaching experience
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Command of grades/subject specific content and theoretical knowledge of learning theory, including motivation, reinforcement, evaluation and feedback techniques.
- Successful results of criminal and employment background check.
- Effective instructional delivery techniques and excellent communication skills.
- Adherence to the requirements of the Code of Ethics for the Education Profession.
