Job Description
SPED Data Entry Clerk is responsible for updating special education caseload information, inputting special education data into database and verifying / correcting data for STARS reporting count dates.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Comply with the state approved Code of Ethics of the Educational Profession and uphold and enforce department rules, administrative directives, Board policy, state statues and state and federal regulations.
Input confidential special education student information from IEPs into database.
Distribute and receive updated caseload data at beginning of year and prior to all count dates.
Keep track of received data and source documents.
Prepare and sort source documents, and identify and interpret data to be entered.
Contact preparers of source documents to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data.
Enter alphabetic, numeric, or symbolic data from source documents into computer following format displayed on screen, and enters necessary codes.
Compare data entered with source documents, or reenters data in verification format on screen to detect errors.
Make necessary corrections to information entered.
Compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered.
Keep record of work completed.
Review error reports and enter corrections into computer.
File or route source documents after entry.
Respond to inquiries regarding entered data.
Compile, generate and verify data for STARS 40th, 80th, 120th, and EOY reports.
Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records and reports as required by law, state directive, district policy, and administrative regulation.
Creates spreadsheets / reports as request by Administrative Staff.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities and / or self-selected professional growth activities.
Work cooperatively with and maintain professional relationships with employees and other professionals.
Attend staff meetings and participate in other activities as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
