Assists in the receipt, delivery of mail, storage and control of furniture, supplies and equipment.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Responsible for the receipt and distribution of warehouse stock to include, but not limited to: equipment, maintenance supplies, custodial supplies, office supplies, instructional resources, surplus/ salvage items, and other items stocked in the warehouse to and from various location throughout the district.Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport.Receives shipments by counting, weighing or measuring items and comparing size, weight or description to information on packing lists and/ or purchase orders. Records discrepancies or damage.Maintains manual and electronic documents, files and records (e.g. shipping accounts, purchase orders, fixed asset records, bar-coding, inventory, returns, monthly warehouse report, surplus property, electronic delivery logs, book depository, incoming freight shipments, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, and providing materials and reliable resource information.Drives vehicles for the purpose of transporting orders, delivering mail, parcels and special delivery of registered and certified mail and other material.Operates warehouse equipment for the purpose of moving large and heavy items safely and effectively.Participates in physical inventories for the purpose of verifying stock and identifying losses.Prepares orders by pulling from stock for the purpose of meeting delivery requirements.Responds to inquiries of staff and vendors for the purpose of providing information and/or direction regarding the invoices, billing and status of deliveries.Keeps warehouse and vehicles clean, orderly and free of hazardous conditions. Reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.Follows performance procedures in Maintenance Operations Handbook.Wears uniform and safety shoes provided by Gadsden ISD.Perform other duties as assigned.No supervisory responsibilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
