Job Summary
Responsible for accessioning and processing of anatomic pathology specimens, and instrument operation and maintenance. May provide assistance with specialty specimen collection.
Essential Functions
- Organizes, retrieves, and re-files pathology slide and block inventory
- Receives and accessions pathology samples
- Receives and return external pathology material to outside institutions
- Logs receipt and delivery of inventory
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or GED required
- 1-2 years experience in anatomic pathology or clinical laboratory preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of medical and surgical terminology.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
