Team SummaryThe Technology & Professional Services Indirect Procurement Team is responsible for sourcing technology and professional services solutions across all Business functions . The Team works collaboratively with Business stakeholders to develop and align on strategy, to support solution and supplier selections through go to market events, to negotiate contracts, to manage vendors, and to complete contract renewals.Job SummaryThe Technology & Professional Services Category Manager - Marketing resource will be a part of the Technology & Professional Services Indirect Procurement team and functionally aligned to our Marketing Teams. The Category Manager will be responsible for development, support, and execution of category strategies in partnership with our Marketing Stakeholders. The Category Manager will also manage suppliers and contracts, perform spend analysis, manage the RFx (RFQ, RFP, RFI) process from start to finish in support of competitive supplier selection and will ensure optimization of the procurement processes to drive success for GAF.Essential Duties
- Develop category strategies in partnership with Marketing Stakeholders for all high value or high risk spend within the Technology & Professional Services category (15%-20%).
- Negotiate with suppliers to help drive the execution of agreements to mitigate risk and to attain the lowest total cost, in accordance with GAF policies and procedures. (20-25%)
- Manage contractual commitments and supplier assessments, ensuring all purchases consistent with quality and delivery requirements. (15-20%)
- Analyze, develop and deliver timely cost information and contract renewals. Report and communicate Procurement activities. Provide supply-based market intelligence to internal GAF partners. (10-15%)
- Assess suppliers and potential suppliers. Oversee tracking of supplier metrics, and communicate performance. Manage vendor relationships and build effective partnerships. (10-15%)
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies that are aligned with GAF business objectives. (5-10%)
- Bachelor’s Degree Supply Chain, Business, Marketing, or Related Field Required
- 6 years of experience in procurement, with 2 years in Marketing procurement
- Strong understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain procedures
- Excellent negotiation skills and contract experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strategic thinking with a bias toward action
- Ability to influence and to drive value as a trusted business partner
- Experience with financial management and spend/budget analysis
- Skilled at using software tools for daily job execution (Google Suite, Ariba & SAP S4/Hana experience preferred)
- Excellent people and relationship building skills
