Team or Function Overview
- The Machine Technician schedules are based on business needs (Typically 12 Hour Rotating shifts)
- The plant operates 24 / 7. A Machine Technician will work 36 hours one week, 48 the next, rotating days and nights every 4 weeks.
- Holidays, weekends and other shifts may be required
Summary
The Machine Technician is responsible for producing high quality commercial roofing products at GAF through accuracy, timeliness and efficiency of all manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where safety, quality, service and cost are the highest priorities. The Machine Technician will perform various, rotating duties relating to all manufacturing operations. He or she will support the managers and all plant staff to meet operational goals and perform duties as assigned. Employees will contribute to a highly motivated and positive environment. The Machine Technician reports to the Production Supervisor.
Under the direction of the Production Manager, Production Supervisor, and Lead Technician, the Machine Technician must be familiar with all areas of the Compounding raw material making process along with any off-line equipment associated with the production line and is responsible for maintaining a continuous efficient operation while assuring the proper setup of the compounding line, and associated equipment. It is the responsibility of all Technicians to operate in a safe manner, and monitor quality of the product we produce through the use of process specifications, Plant RCN, PCN, and online testing.
