Team SummaryThe Site Experience and Web Design Team manages all site content, user experience, website publishing and maintenance for GAF.com and provides support for GAF’s related business sites.Job SummaryWe are looking for an experienced and driven Senior UI/UX Designer to join our team. Key responsibilities include designing user interactions based on research and analysis, and effectively communicating design decisions to stakeholders across GAF and its affiliated businesses. The ideal candidate will apply UX best practices to craft innovative, engaging user experiences that align with business objectives.Essential Duties
- Apply a human-centered design approach to create intuitive interfaces and seamless user experiences across our brands, ensuring consistency and quality with GAF.com.
- Establish GAF and its sister businesses as a Center of Excellence by delivering world-class websites, portals, and mobile applications.
- Take ownership of the entire user journey, from ideation to build hand-off.
- Provide content recommendations based on SEO insights and analytics data.
- Conduct research on customers, competitors, and products to inform design decisions.
- Develop personas, scenarios, and user stories to guide design strategies.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mock-ups to bring designs to life.
- Lead and execute usability testing to refine and optimize user experiences.
- Design with accessibility standards in mind, ensuring inclusivity for all users.
- Collaborate with web operations and developers to maintain product quality.
- Work closely with product managers and marketing teams to drive customer success.
- Ensure products are rigorously tested with users and validated against business objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in User-Centered Design, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 8 years of professional design experience, including at least 3 years of web-based user experience design.
- A professional portfolio to accompany your resume, showcasing your design expertise.
- High proficiency in creating components and developing UI Kits using Figma.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to self-edit and tailor findings to suit different audiences.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and skilled in managing time effectively.
- Strong collaborative abilities to work seamlessly with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including web operations, development, and IT.
- Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to conduct user interviews, analyze data, and apply insights to optimize web pages for GAF.com and related businesses.
- In-depth understanding of UX disciplines, including architecture, research, usability, and content strategies.
- Solid knowledge of emerging UX/UI design best practices and trends.
- Expertise in typography, color theory, spatial relationships, and proportions.
- Proficient in web optimization, design implementation, and accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of cross-browser compatibility and responsive design techniques.
- Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing mobile-first experiences.
- Familiarity with various testing methodologies, including Standard Usability Testing, Comparative Testing, Rapid Iterative Testing, and Prototype Testing.
- Working knowledge of GA4 and SEO software is a plus.
- Previous management experience is preferred but not required.
- Experience with Webflow (or similar CMS), Magento, AO Docs, Adobe Workfront, or a basic understanding of HTML is a plus, but not required.
Consideration will be given based on geography, candidate experience, and qualifications.
Annual Salary Range: 117,000-149,500
