The Opportunity:
The Director, Human Resources is a senior leadership position responsible for designing and implementing strategic HR initiatives that align with Gafcon's business objectives. The Director will develop and oversee systems that attract, retain, and motivate talent, ensuring alignment with Gafcon's long-term goals. This role requires advanced HR expertise and a strong focus on collaboration with senior management, providing direction on workforce planning, organizational development, and HR strategy to drive business outcomes. This role will be critical in shaping the future of Gafcon's workforce and ensuring that the company remains an employer of choice. The Director, Human Resources will not only manage daily operations but will also play an integral role in driving the company's HR strategy and organizational success.
What You Will Do – Essential Responsibilities:
- Leads strategic workforce planning to ensure that Gafcon has the right talent in place to meet both immediate and long-term business goals.
- Guides the development of comprehensive talent pipelines, leveraging advanced recruitment strategies, external networks, and internal talent development programs to ensure a constant flow of skilled candidates.
- Works closely with executive leadership to forecast talent needs and align HR resources with the company's strategic business objectives.
- Develops and implements comprehensive employee engagement strategies that promote a positive work culture and increase retention, ensuring the long-term success of Gafcon's workforce.
- Provides guidance to senior management on implementing company-wide initiatives aimed at improving associate satisfaction and morale.
- Utilizes employee feedback and analytics to drive improvements in company culture and organizational development.
- Leads the development of competitive compensation strategies, ensuring Gafcon attracts and retains top talent while balancing budgetary constraints.
- Partners with senior leadership to design and implement incentive structures and performance-driven rewards programs that align with company objectives.
- Review compensation market trends regularly and proposes adjustments to maintain Gafcon's competitiveness in the market.
- Partners with leadership to drive organizational development strategies that enhance team dynamics, leadership effectiveness, and company-wide performance.
- Oversees performance management systems that clearly algin individual and team objectives with business goals, driving high performance across all levels.
- Provides coaching and development for senior management on performance optimization, organizational change, and employee development.
- Ensures that all HR policies, procedures, and systems are aligned with current employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Partners with legal counsel and management to ensure proactive compliance across all HR areas, including EEO, wage and hour, benefits, ad worker safety, minimizing legal risk.
- Leads HR risk management strategies, providing counsel on employee relations, performance issues, and other HR matters that could impact the company's bottom line.
- Oversees the company's health and safety programs, working in collaboration with relevant teams to mitigate risks and ensure a safe work environment.
- Leads the Workers' Compensation program, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, claims management, and employee support.
- Maintains high standards of compliance with OSHA, Cal-OSHA, and other relevant safety regulations.
- Leads the development and implementation of HR technology solutions that streamline HR processes, improve data security, and enhance the overall HR experience.
- Ensures that HR data is accurate, confidential, and accessible, facilitating strategic decision-making through advanced analytics and reporting.
- Collaborates with IT and other departments to ensure HR systems integrate seamlessly with other business functions, improving overall organizational efficiency.
- Partners with senior leadership to shape the company's long-term HR strategy, advising on the full range of HR matters, including organizational design, leadership development, and corporate culture.
- Provides thought leadership on emerging HR trends, identifying opportunities to innovate and improve the company's HR practices.
- Plays a critical role in executing Gafcon's business strategy by aligning human capital management with key business objectives, ensuring the workforce supports overall company goals.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- The individual in this position supervises the HR Team, providing leadership and guidance to ensure the successful execution of HR strategies and initiatives.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; HR certification programs and/or PHR and SPHR certification highly desirable.
- Experience: A comprehensive HR generalist background with a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible HR and/or management experience.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of employment, benefits, and wage & hour laws and regulations required.
- Skills: Must possess strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and superior interpersonal skills.
- Prioritization: Ability to efficiently handles multiple and shifting priorities, using logic and reasoning to evaluate alternative solutions to challenges and problems.

Compensation Disclaimer:
Gafcon's compensation range for this opportunity is a base salary between $115,000 to $140,000 annually. Individual pay decisions will vary based on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and market conditions. While we strive to provide competitive compensation within our range, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at, or near, the top of the salary range. Our approach considers various factors including external market data, internal equity considerations, and the candidate's experience. Gafcon also offers a comprehensive benefits package as part of our overall compensation strategy.
