Job Description:
The QC Lab Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the quality control laboratory, including testing, record keeping, and staff supervision. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemistry and chemical engineering, as well as experience in supervising a manufacturing QC laboratory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and 17025 standards
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including calibration and maintenance
- Provide training and guidance to laboratory technicians on testing procedures and protocols
- Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement corrective action plans to address any non-conformities identified during audits and assessments
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related science
- 5 years QC laboratory experience, with at least 3 years supervising a manufacturing QC laboratory
- Strong knowledge of chemistry and chemical engineering concepts
- Experience with gas chromatography and mass spectroscopy
- ISO 9001 and 17025 experience
- Experience with instrumentation maintenance and calibration methods
- Understanding of analyst training programs and their implementation
- Ability to take new test methods from initial development to implementation
- Experience with process continuous improvement
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP programs
- Ability to lead and collaborate within a fast-paced and team-based environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
