GBA Facility Services - Electrical Estimator
Responsible for supporting the Estimating and Engineering Department in constructability reviews, cost estimating, and scheduling. Most of the efforts will require interacting with proposal teams on cost estimating for major design and construction projects in various industries including mission-critical, commercial, industrial, life sciences.
Electrical Estimator is responsible for the following :
Lead proposal team on major projects in all programs and for all companies
Work with Project Management and Design teams during the buyout process
Develop estimates, budgets, quantity surveys, and proposals accurately and competitively
Cultivate subcontractor and supplier relationships including seeking new relationships, answering inquiries, and reviewing scopes of work
Create project schedules for bids and assist in pre-construction, offering assistance for technical plans, budget, risk assessments, and other work as needed
Attend pre-bid conferences, site visits, manage bid day process and proposal submission details
Build, maintain, and improve relationships with facility managers and construction owners
Review and understand plans and specifications
Review estimate and proposed schedule with Project Managers and the Project Executive for final decision of an agreed-upon scheduled
SKILLS, ABILITIES, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Bachelor's degree in construction or related field
Above average skills with digital take-off and estimating software
Complete, accurate, and competitive proposal by always having a global understanding of the project before beginning the estimate
Above average proficiency with Microsoft Suite products and scheduling software
Exhibits high-level ability to interpret plans and specifications
Maintain ethics in bidding and in disseminating post-bid information
Understanding of direct and indirect costs to projects and exhibiting a high level of understanding of project scopes and pricing
Scheduling preparation of proposals through proper capacity management, reducing last-minute crisis management
Familiar with construction scheduling
Familiar with LEED requirements
Aptitude for reading and interpreting plans and specifications
Willing to travel for site visits and bid deliveries as needed
Ability to communicate effectively externally and internally
Demonstrates a strong work ethic and a professional attitude towards colleagues.
Proficient in prioritization skills
Proven initiative, positive attitude, team-oriented, self-motivated, and highly enthusiastic.
Ability to manage changing priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to a changing business environment.
